Artist Bio

Emmanuel Osahor is a Nigerian-born Canadian visual artist practicing in Toronto, Canada. His practice engages with beauty as a necessity for survival, and a precursor to thriving. His works depict garden spaces as constructed sanctuaries within which manifestations of both beauty and care are present. He holds an MFA in Studio Art from the University of Guelph (2021), and a BFA in Art and Design from the University of Alberta (2015). His work has been presented in many solo and group exhibitions, and is held in public and private collections, including the Art Gallery of Ontario, University of Alberta Museums, and the Royal Bank of Canada.  He was awarded the Joseph Plaskett Prize in Canadian Painting.
